Details about the 7.3 Magnitude Earthquake in Sumatra Island, Indonesia
EARTHQUAKE – The geophysics agency (BMKG) of Indonesia recorded a 7.3 magnitude quake in Indonesia and a tsunami warning is up.
Earthquakes can hardly be predicted accurately. Several experts across the globe share the same ground when it comes to it and what countries do more is on the preparation in case a quake happens.
Most nations have established rules when it comes to infrastructure building so buildings have the capacity to withstand as much as they can the tremors when they happen. For people’s awareness on what to when there is shaking, earthquake drills are usually done in schools and companies situated in sky-rise buildings.
Quakes can happen both in land and in water. Recently, a strong earthquake jolted west of Sumatra Island in Indonesia. It had a magnitude of 7.3.

Based on a report on GMA News, Indonesia’s geophysics agency (BMKG) recorded a 7.3 magnitude earthquake west of Sumatra Island. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) earlier recorded the quake at 6.9 magnitude.
According to the report, the 7.3 magnitude quake triggers a tsunami warning. It had a depth of 84 kilometers. The authorities immediately instructed the local residents to stay away from the shores.
