Triangle of Sadness, which is a Cannes Palme d’Or-winning film, also earned Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay for Swedish filmmaker Ruben Ostlund.

Dolly de Leon is also the first Pinay actress who was nominated at the Golden Globe and BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards). Last March, she finished filming for the movie Grand Death Lotto in the US. Aside from this, she has also done filming for Between Temples with Jason Schwarztman.

Although she is spreading her wings in the global entertainment industry, Dolly said she is not quite indulgent in being called a “Hollywood Star.”

“I’m not very comfortable with that term. I am an actor. I don’t consider myself a star. I’m just a working actor. I’m an actor who works everywhere. I’d like to think that way,” Dolly said.

Through the fame that she has now, Dolly is also spreading the advocacy that she is supporting. The actress is supporting the UN Refugee Agency and she is also helping Project Hulmahan which is an initiative to help Marikina shoemakers and other communities nationwide.
