They were dismayed to learn that Congressman Teves was allowed to enter the session through Zoom or teleconferencing in their letter to committee chair Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa. The mayor went on to say that the decision has a significant influence on the victims who oppose providing suitable accommodations to the Congressman, based on the report.

Degamo contended that what was said was unjust because he and the other victims had given up their time, effort, money, and security, while Teves will simply attend online. Furthermore, the participant’s attendance via Zoom or teleconferencing decreases the significance and importance of their presence in the hearing, which is unfair to those who attend in person.

Degamo stated that because Teves is a fugitive, he should not be provided with adequate housing. Mayor Degamo requested that the Senate panel reconsider its judgment. Bato, on the other hand, claimed that he is in discussions with members of the Senate Public Order and Dangerous Drugs Committee in order for them to make the final decision before the hearing begins on Monday.
