World’s Smallest Living Dog: Meet Pearl The Pocket-sized Chihuahua

Meet Pearl, Newly Named The World’s Smallest Living Dog

WORLD’S SMALLEST LIVING DOG – A chihuahua named Pearl was officially named the new World’s Shortest Living Dog by Guinness World Records.

Almost every one of us adore dogs. We call them pups and puppers, woofers and boofers, pupperinos and cutie-booties, and we appreciate our closest companions like no other. Big dogs, tiny dogs, yappy dogs, fluffy dogs, all of them are loveable dogs.

If you were to ask a dog owner why they love their dogs so much, they would likely respond that they have a strong and lasting bond with them, care deeply about them, and are aware that their dogs feel the same way, providing them with companionship, love, and unwavering loyalty. One of the other things they’ll tell you is that they can’t really develop a relationship with people, but they can with dogs.

Based on a report from Philstar, the tiniest live dog in the world, Pearl, a two-year-old Chihuahua, has recently been recognized by Guinness World Records. Official measurements place Pearl’s height at 9.14 centimeters (3.59 inches), length at 12.7 centimeters (5 inches), and weight at just 553 grams.

Pearl is linked to Miracle Milly, the former record holder who measured 9.65 cm (3.8 inches), as Pearl is the daughter of one of Milly’s identical sisters. However, Milly passed away in 2020, and Pearl is now the record holder.

When they were born, Milly and Pearl both weighed less than an ounce.

“We’re blessed to have her… and to have this unique opportunity to break our own record and share with the world this amazing news,” said Pearl’s owner Vanesa Semler.

The pocket-sized Pearl, according to Semler, is “a bit of a diva” who enjoys eating high-quality foods like salmon and chicken and loves “dressing up nice.”

Although Pearl had a very calm temperament—unusual for Chihuahuas—and was described by Semler as “small like a ball” and “a child at heart” by Semler.
