Gladys Reyes talked about the “kontrabida” she encounters in real life
Kapuso actress Gladys Reyes, who is known as one of the “kontrabida” actresses of her generation, shared how she deals with “kontrabida” in real life.
Gladys was able to establish her name in the industry as one of the effective antagonists. However, with her acting caliber, she was able to show her versatility. She did drama and comedy as well.
In a recent episode of King of Talk Boy Abunda’s Fast Talk, the actress talked about her stints as a “kontrabida,” based on the article in GMA Entertainment.
Tito Boy said that in real life, sometimes “kontrabida” is not actually connected to a person or sometimes it is an external factor. “Minsan ang mga kontrabida ay nasa loob natin, we have our own insecurities, our weaknesses na nagdidikta minsan kung paano tayo kumikilos,” the seasoned TV host said.
Then, Tito Boy asked Gladys Reyes what she usually does when “kontrabida” would fill her heart. “Naiiyak ako, Tito Boy,” the actress said.
She explained that in real life, she is different from her antagonist characters. Gladys said that when her characters got angry are noisy and shouted a lot, in real life, when she gets angry, she just cries.
“Minsan ang sama ng loob ko, ang sama ng pakiramdam ko, naiiyak ako sa galit talaga. Pero kapag naiyak ko na ‘yun Tito Boy, maya-maya okay na ako,” Gladys added.
The actress also said there were times when she would verbally rant when she was angry but most of the time when her emotions get too high, she would just cry.
Meanwhile, Gladys Reyes continues to showcase her versatility as an actress. She is part of the family movie Apag, one of the official entries in the first-ever Summer Metro Manila Film Festival.
