Gelli de Belen and Ariel Rivera have been together for three decades already
Celebrity couple Gelli de Belen and Ariel Rivera revealed that they had no major fights for 25 years of being a married couple.
Gelli and Ariel have been together for three decades already. Before they got married, they were already a couple for five years. With that span of time as a married couple, they did not have a major argument.
Based on the article in Bandera, the celebrity couple did not go through a big misunderstanding and conflict.
Ariel shared that when they were not married yet, there was “tampuhan.” However, after tying the knot, the couple did not have fights and there was no issue in their relationship.
“Noong boyfriend-girlfriend. Mag-asawa hindi kami nag-aaway,” the seasoned OPM singer said. Back when they were still in the boyfriend-girlfriend stage, she would tell to Ariel in detail what she feels, especially when there were issues in their lives.
“Alam n’yo naman na madaldal ako, lalo na noong bago kami, parang takang-taka ako sa mga bagay-bagay, kapag may misunderstanding ayoko talaga. Very vocal ako. This was when we’re just dating at saka hindi ko pa siya ganoon kakilala. Hindi pa rin ako mature,” Gelli de Belen shared.
The actress added that when she was speaking and airing her predicaments, Ariel would just listen and maintain his silence. Her initial reaction was that she would want the argument to happen until the conflict will be resolved.
However, Gelli said that she eventually realized that her husband was doing the right thing. “Eventually, I realized oo nga kapag mainit ang ulo, you tend to say a lot of things that are hurtful. You can’t take that back,” the actress said.
Gelli de Belen added that she was confrontational but Ariel Rivera was calm. She also realized that fixing the conflict right then and there is not always the right solution.
Within the 25 years of being together, the couple said that there is always respect between them. They do not shout, say mean words or curse at each other.
