Arnell Ignacio Sermons 5 OFWs in UAE After Arrested for Posting TikTok Video
Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) admin Arnell Ignacio airs dismay to five (5) Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who were arrested in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
It may be noted that five OFWs stationed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are now pleading with the government for assistance after being detained by officials after posting a video on TikTok. They are introducing themselves as escorts in the popular video.
An OWWA representative encouraged OFWs to always be informed of the laws in effect in their working nation. Ignacio couldn’t disguise his irritation with the OFWs who were putting their lives in danger in a video message.
According to Ignacio, they were already urging OFWs to avoid breaking the laws of the other nations where they were working. Nonetheless, many of them kept making the same error. The government, on the other hand, has no choice but to assist the aforementioned OFWs.
“Pag napahamak naman, magsusumbong sa lahat ng television station, radio, tapos iibahin niyo ‘yung kwento, hindi niyo iku-kwento ‘yung kalokohan niyo,” Ignacio said.
“Hindi ba tayo nahihiya sa mga pinagagagawa natin? Tandaan niyo, pag lumipat kayo ng ibang bansa, para kayong ambassador ng bansa natin, Pilipinas, yan ang nire-represent mo, yung ibang lahi nakikita ang mga kalokohan niyo [kaya] akala nila ganyan tayong lahat,” he added.
Ignacio lamented that certain Filipinos living overseas are the ones who are brave enough to report despite their wrong actions. Ignacio advised anybody considering becoming an OFW to cancel their ambitions to work in another nation if they are unwilling to follow the rules.
“Magbo-boyfriend, magpapabuntis kahit na sa lugar na yan ay haram, bawal pagkatapos kapag napahamak, ano ‘yung sasabihin? Kayo pa ‘yung mas matapang eh, yung mga OFWs na matino at nagtatrabaho ng mahusay, nadadamay eh, hindi naman po porket kayo ay bagong bayani ay lisensya na yan para gumawa kayo ng gusto niyo kahit kayo ay mapapahamak,” he said in his video.
