Dindo Arroyo Reveals He Just Asks for a “Bottle of Beer” as Talent Fee from FPJ
Veteran actor Dindo Arroyo revealed that his talent fee from late actor-director Fernando Poe Jr (FPJ) was just a bottle of beer.
In an interview, award-winning actor Dindo Arroyo discussed his experiences with the ‘King of Philippine Movies,’ Fernando Poe Jr. Dindo revealed in an interview with Rhy TV Official that the late actor and director was notorious for ‘handpicking’ his talents and was willing to pay any price to obtain them.
“Tapos tatawagin ako walang award, walang napapatunayan, I’m just making pang 20 or 30 movies palang pero hindi parin ako ganoon [kasikat] para kunin,” he added.
He also shared his experience with FPJ when he was asked by the latter to become part of his movie. According to him, FPJ wanted him to be a part of his film, so the famed actor inquired about Dindo’s talent fee.
“Kaya daw mahal ka daw eh,” FPJ said according to Dindo. “So kinuha ko ‘yung beer, nag toast kami.
Dindo appeared in several FPJ films, including ‘Ang Probinsyano’ in 1997. From 2016 to 2017, he also appeared in the remake of the same film, directed by Coco Martin.
Previously, police officials in Laguna province detained an actor on cybercrime charges. Arroyo was apprehended at his home in Bian City’s Barangay Bian. He is wanted by the Santa Rosa City, Laguna Regional Trial Court Branch 101 on two charges of violating Republic Act 10175, often known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
