Bela Padilla has a new endeavor
Multihyphenate Bela Padilla is set to launch a project that will allow filmmakers, as well as fans, to be part of creating movies and TV series.
Aside from being an actress, Bela is also a writer and through the movie 366, she was able to have her directorial debut. The Pinay celebrity is not stopping her. Based on the article in The Philippine Star, she will go a higher notch when it comes to working behind the scenes.
The actress established an NFT-centric platform called AndRoll. NFTs are non-fungible tokens. These represent digital and real-world items that can be purchased and sold on a certain platform.
“The idea of AndRoll is, hopefully, we change or we kind of disrupt the system as gently as we can but in a positive way,” Bela Padilla said. NFT holders will have access to the creative process of a certain project through her production house.
Movie and TV series will have the chance to work together with directors, producers, screenwriters, artists and actors. They will also have the opportunity to be part of pre and post-production discussions and voting.
Bela cited her recent movie Spellbound with Marco Gumabao. She said that those who have access to the platform can vote on what her leading man will wear in a particular scene.
AndRoll is currently in its first phase which is basically focused on setting up the platform. In 2024, Bela Padilla and her team are expecting that this platform will become a real-life masterclass for filmmaking.
Her first project for AndRoll is White Nose which is about the lives of a father and a son after the pandemic. It is expected to start shooting in December this year in Switzerland.
