David Licauco talked about his acting career
Kapuso actor David Licauco, also known as the Pambansang Ginoo, revealed the reason why he joined showbiz.
David waited for a long time before he finally had his big break as an actor. Although he already did some leading man roles in the past, it was just recently that he caught the attention of many showbiz fans.
It is because of his Fidel character in the Maria Clara at Ibarra series and his unexpected love team with Barbie Forteza became a hit.
David Licauco previously revealed that he almost gave up on his acting career because, for a long time, there was nothing happening big for him in showbiz. He said that MCAI was supposed to be his last project.
In a recent interview on talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, the Kapuso actor was asked about his decision to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
The actor admitted that he thought that after winning Mr. Chinatown, it would be easy for him to penetrate the show business. He thought that he just need to do “papogi” because he was not that passionate in the past when it comes to his acting.
“Showbiz is hard,” he said. When Ogie asked where his parents were at that time or how they supported him. The actor revealed that it was his parents who pushed him to be in showbiz.
“The reason actually kind bakit ako nag-artista, kasi hindi ako pinapayagan ng magulang ko lumabas ng bahay,” David said. This is because his parents are strict. The actor revealed that the strictness came after the car accident he went through with his friends in which his best friend died.
Although his mom was already strict prior to the accident, it became more intense after what happened to him and his friends.
