Wilbert Ross has this unforgettable experience in a project with Joel Lamanagan
Former Hashtags member Wilbert Ross revealed what director Joel Lamangan did after three takes of a scene he had in the movie 2017 Bes and the Beshies.
Wilbert had this unforgettable experience as a first-time actor. He shared in a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, that the scene required him to have a conversation with Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla who played his mother in the movie.
In the scene, he was taking a video of Zsa Zsa while she was cooking. Then, Wilbert was supposed to ask his mother “Wow, Mama, ano yan?’ Ano niluluto mo?”
Since it was his first scene in that project, he was very nervous. He failed the first take and in the second take, he did not do it right again. Wilbert Ross said that he was ashamed at that time because he could not do it right.
“Siyempre, nahihiya ako kasi si Tita Zsa Zsa, di ba, dahil sa akin paulit-ulit siya,” he said. For the third time, Wilbert once again made a mistake. Then, he saw Direk Joel walking toward his direction.
Direk Joel said this to Wilbert: “Ano ba yan?! Wala ka bang agahan, ha?! Gusto mong patakbuhin kita diyan sa kanto, paikut-ikutin kita diyan para magka-energy ka?!”
The actor apologized to the director. Direk Joel told him to hold the towel and they did a sort of tug of war. The director ordered him to say his lines while they were pulling the towel.
With that, Wilbert said that he had an on-the-spot acting workshop from Direk Joel. “Kaya nailalabas ko talaga yung mismong energy so… grabe,” the actor said.
Wilbert Ross added that it was a memorable experience for him because it was his first scene and it was a project with Direk Joel Lamangan, and he feels honored because of this.
