Female Soldier Uses Pull Tabs From Soda Cans to Make Recycled Gowns
A female soldier from the town of Mataasnakahoy in Batangas goes viral for making gowns out of pull tabs from soda cans.
To honor her late father, a female soldier from Mataasnakahoy, Batangas is making gowns out of soda can pull tabs. Richell Malibiran, the uploader, is promoting a personal project of producing recycled gowns in memory of her late father, Feliciano Malibiran.
Kahit ‘yung mga patapon na bagay binibigyan namin ng buhay,” she said.
Tatay Feliciano was gathering soda can pull tabs in order to trade them in for a wheelchair. Malibiran kept his memory alive through these eco-friendly gowns after he died on March 16, 2013.
Malibiran’s environmental activism began with her father’s legacy. She learner how to cut, sew, and embroider on her own. She has designed three eco-friendly gowns in the last ten years.
The female soldier hopes to break the Guinness World Record, and she acknowledges their Mayor Janet Ilagan and Vice Mayor Jay Ilagan for their support.
