Maja Salvador Not Happy w/ Joey de Leon’s “Buti pa kayo may prangkisa” Joke?

Pinay Actress Maja Salvador Seems to be Annoyed by Joey de Leon’s Joke About Franchise

The Pinay actress Maja Salvador seemed to be annoyed by Kapuso host Joey de Leon’s “Buti pa kayo may prangkisa” joke.

On May 5, 2020, ABS-CBN, one of the largest television networks in the Philippines, was forced to shut down its broadcast operations following a decision by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) not to renew its franchise.

The closure of ABS-CBN has had a significant impact on the media landscape, the Philippine economy, and the lives of thousands of employees and their families.

Earlier, several internet users noticed that actress Maja Salvador did not laugh when Joey de Leon made a joke about a franchise.

In the Bawal Judgmental segment of the noontime show Eat Bulaga, a contestant, trans beauty queen Michelle, discussed the historical franchise of Miss International Queen.

Joey jokingly said, “Buti pa kayo may prangkisa,” which made people laugh and the hosts suggested that he may have been referring to the failed franchise renewal of ABS-CBN Corporation, their rival network.

However, some netizens noticed that former ABS-CBN actress Maja Salvador did not find Joey’s joke funny. They speculated that she was annoyed by the host’s joke because of the many employees who lost their jobs after ABS-CBN’s failed franchise renewal.

Some talents, like Maja, have since decided to move to other networks, after being left jobless. Maja was also a former host of the longest-running noontime variety show, “It’s Showtime.”

The “Kapamilya Fanatic” Twitter account uploaded a video clip of Maja’s reaction after the Kapuso star made the joke.

The social media users expressed their reactions to the post:
