2 Teenagers Arrested for Stealing Cable Wires in Quezon City

Police authorities arrested two (2) teenagers after being caught in the act of cutting cable wires in Quezon City.

The two burglars were apprehended by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) while attempting to steal cable lines in the city. QCPD Director PBGEN Nicolas Torre III stated that those arrested are still minors.

According to the report, the suspects were identified as Jerome Justine Delos Reyes, 19 years old, resident of Brgy. San Agustin, Q.C., and a 16-year-old teenager who lives in Barangay Kaligayahan, Q.C. According to District Special and Operations Unit (DSOU) Chief, PLTCOL Rolando Lorenzo past 12 noon when they saw the suspects cutting the cable.

The cable was installed along Atis St. in Greenfields 1 Subdivision, Brgy. Happy, Q.C. The operators promptly scolded the two and demanded a document proving that they had the authority to cut the wire.

The cops appear to have arrested the suspects here without any documentation. Cable wires worth Php9,912.00, a metal saw, and a makeshift handgun with 12 gauge ammo were confiscated from the two, based on the report.

The suspects have been jailed on suspicion of theft and violating RA10515, or the Anti Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013. Aside from that, Delos Reyes will face another prosecution for violating the RA10591 Comprehensive Weapons and Ammunition Control Act.
