Family and Friends of John Matthew Salilig Brings him to his Final Resting Place

JOHN MATTHEW SALILIG – The Adamson University student was laid to his final rest in Zamboanga City and his family is crying for justice over his death.

Countless hearts were left saddened and crying for justice over the untimely death of John Matthew Salilig, a 3rd year chemical engineering student of Adamson University. He died after the welcoming rites of the fraternity that he was a member of.

Fondly called by his family and friends as “Matt-Matt”, the Adamson Student went missing for around 10 days. His family could not contact him since he left to attend the welcoming rights of Tau Gamma Phi-Adamson University fraternity in Biñan, Laguna. The last person he has contacted was his older brother when he informed him about going to Laguna.

The older brother of Matt-Matt was not worried as his brother is already a member of the said frat in Zamboanga City. Aside from the victim, two (2) of his brothers are also frat members. However, it was beyond their expectation that they will never see him again.

The lifeless body of John Matthew Salilig was found in a shallow grave in Imus, Cavite. His brother confirmed that it was him and a wake was held shortly in Cavite so his relatives and friends could visit him.

Matt-Matt was flown to Zamboanga City and he was directly brought to the wake of his late grandfather who died a few days before he went missing. Today, the burial of the Adamson student and his late grandfather were held.

As of this writing, at least seven (7) suspects are now under police custody. At least ten (10) persons of interest are still at large.
