Boy Abunda Reacts to “This is Me” Vlog of Liza Soberano
BOY ABUNDA – The veteran host and talent manager expressed his disappointment of the “This is Me” vlog of Liza Soberano.
One of the most popular and beautiful actresses in the Philippine showbiz industry is Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano. She is former talent of Star Magic, the talent management arm of the Kapamilya network and was managed by comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz.
In 2022, Liza decided not to renew her contract with Star Magic and Ogie. In June of the said year, the young actress signed a contract with Careless Music, the music label management company owned by singer-actor James Reid.
There are undeniably a lot of curiosity as to what’s next to the career of Liza Soberano. Many of her fans and supporters long to see the actress again on a project. Recently, she posted a vlog entitled “This is Me” which sparked different reactions from a lot of people.
In the said vlog, Liza explained her decision to transfer a talent management. She claimed that she did not have the freedom since she was 16 years old to choose the projects she want and there was a limitation as to the people she can work with.
The sentiments of Liza Soberano gained different reactions from her fellow celebrities including veteran host Boy Abunda who is also a talent manager. Based on an article on Pep, he admitted that he is “extremely disappointed” by what the actress said in her vlog.
“Disappointed po ako doon sa vlog, I’m not disgusted but I am extremely disappointed with the vlog,” the actress said.
Based on the article, Boy stressed that Liza has the right to change management, to express her feelings, and to handle her career but he hopes she will journey in gratitude. He expressed that it is painful to hear her complaining that she is working with three directors again and again as she’s working “with three best directors in this country”.
“For the last thirteen years, yung hinangaan namin, hindi si Liza yun… Kung rebranding lang ito at direction, medyo masakit, lalo na para sa aming mga managers,” the TV host said.
Boy Abunda gave a amessage to Liza Soberano expressed that he loves her and telling her to “proceed with your career, whenever you want to go, in gratitude”. He stressed that nothing is ever wasted as to what she went through as it those will be her references.
