Surigao Norte Government Employee Arrested in an Illegal Drugs Buy-Bust

Police authorities arrested a government employee during an illegal drug buy-bust operation in Surigao del Norte.

A Surigao del Norte provincial hospital employee was arrested for unlawful drug use. The culprit was apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bad-as, Placer, Surigao del Norte.

Garry Asumen, 42, of Barangay Bad-as, Placer, Surigao del Norte, was detained, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Caraga Region (PDEA-13). The suspect is a “high-value target,” according to PDEA-13, and 1 gram of shabu with a street value of P10,000 was confiscated.

The suspect was charged for violating Republic Act 9165, often known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022. Meanwhile, the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) reported the arrest of two men on Wednesday afternoon who were identified as top regional priority targets for illegal substances.

Based on the report, Joe Aguinaldo, 38, and Argie Trinidad, 26, were arrested in Barangay Agusan Pequeo during a buy-bust operation. They were found with 16 grams of shabu worth PHP108,800.

On Wednesday, the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office announced the arrest of Rey Parba Jualo, 33, of Barangay Tubo-Tubo, Cagwait, Surigao del Sur. According to police, the suspect, who was the target of a court-issued search order, turned up six plastic sachets of shabu worth PHP13,600.
