Carla Abellana Has Been Granted A Protection Order Against Her Ex-husband Tom Rodriguez
CARLA ABELLANA – Kapuso actress Carla Abellana has been granted a protection order against her former husband Tom Rodriguez.
Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez tied the knot in October 2021 at the San Juan Nepomuceno Parish in San Juan, Batangas. Rumors of their separation began when the actor unfollowed Carla on IG in January last year.
The Kapuso actress is now busy building her future home and learning new skills like soap and candle making. Rodriguez on the other hand has been living abroad since their divorce and has yet to return to the country and his entertainment career.

Tom Rodriguez filed for divorce in the US, as he is an American citizen. Carla Abellana said she has already received the divorce decree and has already filed a petition for the recognition of the foreign judgment.
The actress recently appeared as a guest on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.” Carla was asked about her divorce from Rodriguez. One of the issues that she answered was the cause of their breakup.

Carla Abellana also revealed during the interview that she was granted a temporary protection order against her former husband following their separation. She stated that the details cannot be made public. The legal justification was not presented, either, although her lawyer, Atty. Peter Sanchez said it is different from a gag order.
Abunda asked whether Carla and Tom were permitted to be in close proximity under the protective order. The actress previously stated that she is willing to speak with Tom again eventually, and because they work in the same industry, they may cross paths at some point.
“It’s actually for her to invoke protection,” Sanchez said. “If they are in the same building, the same locality, if she doesn’t feel threatened or in any manner uncomfortable, she can opt not to.”
“Once she feels, ‘I don’t like this feeling anymore,’ she can request the other party to leave in accordance with the orders of the court.”
