Senior Citizen Wins P35-M Lotto 6/42 Jackpot Prize
A lady senior citizen who never worked in her entire life winds P35-M Lotto 6/42 jackpot prize drawn on January 17, 2023.
A 63-year-old grandmother who relies solely on her late husband’s pension won over P35 million in the Lotto 6/42. According to a statement from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office on Tuesday, the grandmother from Davao Del Sur was the sole winner of the P35,314,806.60 jackpot prize in the Lotto 6/42 draw on January 17, 2023.
During an interview with PCSO, the winner revealed that her only source of income was her late husband’s monthly pension, which she used to buy her daily necessities.
In that draw, the winning numbers were 34-24-02-06-33-07. However, only the numbers 07 and 02 are reportedly considered the lola’s lucky numbers, which are based on her birthdate. The other numbers she picked were just guesses.
“Ngayon ko lamang po tinaayan ang kumbinasyong ng mga numero na ito,” she said.
The grandma believes that miracles happen to those in need and had always prayed to win the lottery to transform her life.
The winner is also a lector commentator at church, where she serves every Sunday. The senior citizen has already claimed her prize at the agency’s office in Mandaluyong City.
“Ako po ay nagpapasalamat una sa Panginoon sa biyayang ipinagkaloob sa akin at sa aking buong pamilya. Sa PCSO, maraming salamat at sana po ay marami pa kayong matulungang mga tao na umaasa sa inyo, maraming salamat po,” she added.
The public was reminded by the PCSO that lottery prizes above P10,000 are liable for a 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion Law.
