MMDA Personnel Towed a BMW I8 Concept Car for Alleged Illegal Parking
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel towed a BMW I8 Concept luxury car for illegal parking.
The MMDA is conducting a clearance operation in the city’s key thoroughfares. The MMDA’s Task Force Special Operations (TFSO) and Anti-Colorum Unit, led by Edison Bong Nebrija, ensure that the areas are kept clean in order to avoid impediments that impede traffic flow.
Personnel from the MMDA cleared the road of unlawfully parked vehicles like private cars, trucks, motorcycles, and tricycles. Meanwhile, on Nebrija’s Facebook page, he published a photo of a fancy car that was breaking a routine traffic rule: no parking.
The clearance crew gently pulled the pricey car to the towing truck based on the post. This is Nebrija’s first time seeing a BMW I8, a luxury hybrid sports car. He even compliments its opulent appearance.
“My first time to see an i8….pretty fancy hybrid sports car. Ganda!” Nebrija wrote in his post.
Meanwhile, MMDA general manager undersecretary Procopio Lipana stated that the MMDA will assist those who have been mauled while executing their responsibilities. Acting MMDA Chairman Atty. Don Artes stated that the MMDA will file criminal and administrative charges against a barangay captain who assaulted an MMDA employee when clearing activities were underway along the Dagupan Extension in Tondo.
