Coco Martin Admits He Has “Inggit” To Korean Series

Coco Martin talked about his responsibilities as a director

Kapamilya actor-director Coco Martin admitted that he envies teleseryes created by South Korea that have been gaining worldwide popularity.

Many Filipinos are fans of K-dramas. The K-wave, including the world of K-pop and K-fashion, has become popular in different parts of the world and not just in the Philippines.

As an actor and director, Coco also wants that kind of success in the entertainment industry. From doing “extra” roles in movies as part of his “raket”, Coco eventually fell in love with acting.

With his many years in showbiz, he was able to obtain knowledge in producing and directing through his observation. Eventually, the actor has become a director official. His recent project is the series Batang Quiapo which was adapted from Fernando Poe Jr.’s movie.

Aside from being the lead actor in this TV project, based on the article in PEP, Coco Martin also wrote the script and is also the director. He admitted that this is the biggest mistake he has in his life because at first, he did not imagine how difficult it was to direct.

“Ang pinakamali ko sa buhay ko noong pinasok ko na yung pagdidirek. Napakahirap pala niyang responsibilidad, hindi siya ganun na makakapagdirek ka, ayon na yun, pero hindi. Sabi nga nila, ikaw yung kapitan ng barko, kapag nagkamali yan, kung ano man ang mangyari, ikaw at ikaw ang may kasalanan diyan,” he shared.

Coco also admitted that he has “inggit” to Korean TV series and it is because Pinoys love watching them. He is trying to create projects that would also receive the same reception from viewers.
