Janella Salvador Reveals She and Jane de Leon Are Not Friends at the Start of Darna
Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador admitted that she and co-star Jane de Leon are not really friends at the start of Darna.
Jane de Leon and Janella Salvador openly stated during the final press conference for the Kapamilya action-fantasy series “Darna” that they weren’t actually friends when they started filming. The two Kapamilya leading ladies professed to be introverts.
As a result, they didn’t hit it off right away during their first days of filming for the superhero series. Janella, who plays Valentina in “Darna,” explained how she became close to Jane.
“Actually hindi talaga kami friends bago mag-start itong Darna. And we’re both introverts and if we’re going to be totally honest, hindi kami talaga agad-agad nag-click. Hindi naman kami nag-away or anything pero awkward siya nu’ng una,” Janella said.
“But we both made an effort to be able to break each other’s walls. Talagang nag-bond kami. Kapag walang taping, magme-message yung isa, ‘Uy, want to hang out in my room? Let’s watch a movie?’ Until we eventually became comfortable with each other and talagang I think our friendship is for keeps. Like hindi kami pang-Darna lang,” she added.
Jane valued Janella’s friendship and support both in front of and behind the camera. According to Jane, when they were together at ABS-CBN events or concerts, they just said hi or hello to each other.
“But we’re not so close talaga. And naging challenge din naman sa amin and dun kami nagkaroon ng hope talaga na hindi lahat ng makakasama mo magiging competition mo. Hindi siya pang-showbiz lang. Hindi kami taping friends. Actually lahat kami. Actually kagaya ni Zaijian (Jaranilla) nakatira na sa bahay ko. Ngayon lang siya umuwi sa bahay nila. Ha-hahaha!” Jane shared during the interview.
