MMDA Confronts Illegally Parked Vehicle With Supreme Court’s Plate
ILLEGAL PARKING – MMDA apprehended and confronted the driver of an illegally parked vehicles using Supreme Court’s plate.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority is an agency of the Republic of the Philippines implementing the planning, monitoring and coordinative functions along the road concerning purely local matters. The agency aims to ensure the safety of both motorists and pedestrians.
The agency covers the cities of Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan, Pasay, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, Valenzuela, Malabon, Taguig, Navotas and San Juan and the municipality of Pateros.
The Facebook page Gadget Addict has shared the video footage of MMDA officers confronting the driver of an illegally parked vehicle using the Supreme Court’s plate. The video circulates online and garnered reactions from the netizens.
In the video, MMDA traffic czar Edison ‘Bong’ Nebrija confronted the driver of an illegally parked vehicle. The car is even using a plate with the name and logo of the Supreme Court. The driver said that the vehicle is owned by his uncle.
Nebrija asked for his plate and was issued a violation ticket for committing violations of the traffic policy. Eventually, the driver replaced the Supreme Court plate with the car’s real plate number.

“Maraming gumagamit ng mga sticker o plaka na nagpapahiwatig na sila ay parte ng Korte Suprema, NBI, HPG, MMDA o iba pang ahensya ng Gobyerno.
Pero 99% ng pagkakataon, kapag tatanungin ang driver kung sila ay bahagi ng nasabing sangay ng Gobyerno, sasabihin nila na hindi.
Maging maalam na nag-issue na ang Korte Suprema ng resolusyon na NAGBABAWAL sa paggamit ng kanilang selyo sa mga sticker sa mga sasakyang hindi pang-korte, plaka at iba pang kaparehong mga kagamitan, nang walang direktang pahintulot ng Korte Suprema.
