Lady Netizen Posts “Petsa de peligro w/ a twist”
A lady netizen goes viral and earns reactions from the online community after posting “Petsa de peligro w/ a twist”.
Petsa de peligro is a description of tough days when cash is running low. While it’s a borrowed phrase from Spanish, petsa de peligro doesn’t really mean anything in Spanish other than its literal translation date of danger.
A Facebook user named Ged Balingit-Ebalo has shared a photo of her “Petsa de peligro w/ a twist” featuring pancit canton, boiled egg, and croissant. The post garnered various reactions from internet users.
In the photo, Ebalo posted the photo of pancit canton, boiled egg, and croissant bread prepared by her beloved husband. Ebalo’s husband prepared the food as their dinner during that day.
“Nagluto ng pancit canton with egg ang Mister ko for dinner. Tapos naisip namin mas masarap sya kung may kasabay na tinapay, eh croissant ang meron kami sa kusina that time.. (Pangkaraniwang tinapay sya dito sa bansa kung nasaan kami ngayon),” Ged said.
The lady netizen based in the US explained that it was her critical wallet days. They end up eating instant goods like typical Pinoy employees in the Philippines.
“Marami sa atin ang pinagkakasya ang tirang budget habang wala pang sweldo; madalas delata o instant noodles. Instead na monay o pandesal, croissant ang aming version. Kaya ‘petsa de peligro with a twist’,” Ebalo said.
The social media users expressed their reactions to the post:
