Rowena Guanzon defended herself after her video went viral
P3PWD Party List Representative Rowena Guanzon explained her side after she was seen in a viral video having an argument with other people during the Dinagsa Festival in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Guanzon received bashing online because of the said video. She was seen shouting at people and appeared she was reprimanding them. The congresswoman also warned the person behind the camera to wait for her because she will come back.
Netizens who criticized Guanzon said that she was going “crazy” again. Some said that it was inappropriate for a public servant like her to display that kind of attitude in a public place.
However, Rep. Rowena Guanzon defended that she did not start that argument. In a Twitter post that SMNI reporter Admar Vilando shared, the congresswoman explained that the people she reprimanded were drunk.
“Lasing sila naninigarilyo uminom sa sidewalk. Inapakan ang paa ko.sinaway ko sinigawan pa ako. Attempted to attack me. Had to defend myself with my walking cane to stop him kasi lumalapit baka sakalin ako ng g@go,” she said.
In her Twitter post, Guanzon shared a photo taken during that incident, and in her caption, she said that those people were not from Cadiz City and the person apologized but he was smiling, after he attempted to attack her.
“Tingnan nyo ito mga hindi taga Cadiz maki fiesta pero pag lasing, violent na. This man attempted to attack me, pinigilan ng mga kasama nya. Yho de fruta ! Nag sorry pero naka ngisi ang lasing,” Rowena Guanzon wrote.
Prior to this, Guanzon shared a post asking actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga to come. Previously, the congresswoman invited the celebrity to join the festival after she smeared icing on the face of a waiter.
