Ateneo de Davao University to Investigate Viral Bullying Inside School
Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) will conduct an investigation against a viral bullying incident inside the school.
The Ateneo de Davao University is investigating a bullying incident that occurred within the institution and was broadcast on social media. In this video, a guy student is seen strangling another student inside a restroom.
The school confirmed that these two students are junior high students. According to the university’s statement, school officials spoke with these children and their parents, and an inquiry is currently underway.
“An incident involving two ADDU Junior High School students was recorded on video and circulated on social media. School authorities have met with these students and their parents, and an investigation is ongoing,” ADDU said.
According to the university, the proper intervention is being carried out on the person concerned in accordance with the Ateneo de Davao Junior High School Student Discipline Code, the DepEd Child Protection Policy, and the Data Privacy Act of 2012. The school is requesting that pupils’ privacy be respected.
“We ask everyone to respect the privacy of the students and their families and to avoid engaging in misinformation,” according to AdDU.
The school stated that they will continue to protect student safety and will not overlook such instances. If disciplinary measures are justified, they will be enforced after due process, they added.
