How true is it that Jane de Leon displayed this kind of attitude during the Darna taping?
Rumor has it that Kapamilya actress Jane de Leon was “nag-inarte” and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez was supposed to be part of the Darna finale.
It was previously speculated that the Darna featuring the iconic Pinay superhero created by Mars Ravelo is set to end soon. Allegedly, this will be replaced by Coco Martin’s upcoming Batang Quiapo series with Lovi Poe.
Based on the article in Bandera, in a recent showbiz program of veteran showbiz writer Cristy Fermin, they talked about her source’s revelation about Jane. It was said that for the finale, the production wanted to include an actress who also did the Darna role in a previous project.
Among the actresses that were asked, it was said that Regine was the one who said yes to this. She portrayed Darna in the Captain Barbell featuring Senator Bong Revilla in 2003. However, it was said that Jane de Leon was “nag-inarte.” She was supposed to do a scene with Regine but it was said that she refused to do this.
Cristy Fermin read the message from her source about Jane de Leon:
“Si Regine Velasquez pala ang huling pasabog ng Darna, walang kaabog-abog na nu’ng sinabihan ng produksyon si Regine, umoo agad, nagbigay ng sched at walang tanong kung magkano ang TF (talent fee).
Sa kasamaang palad, hindi natuloy dahil ang hitad na Jane de Leon nagpaimportante, gusto ng hitad body double na lang daw ang iharap kay Regine tapos mag-chroma na lang kesyo maraming dahilan ang babae.”
Cristy added that it could be the reason why a lot of people already want the Darna series to end already. She said that Jane was not able to copy the work ethic of her leading man Joshua Garcia and her co-actress Janella Salvador.
One of the directors of the Kapamilya superhero series, Benedict Mique, was asked about this. The director said that he does not know this because Jane de Leon resumed the taping on January 3 while he returned to the Philippines on January 10. On the other hand, Direk Benedict said that when he was working with Jane, he can say that she was “mabait.”
