Man in Kansas Died on the Spot After Accidentally Shot by Pet Dog
A man was declared dead on the spot after his own pet dog accidentally shot him in Kansas, United States.
A 30-year-old guy died instantaneously after being shot by his companion’s dog accidentally while inside a pickup truck. According to the report, the dog inadvertently stepped on the trigger of the gun, which was supposed to be employed in the hunting activity of those who responded to the incident.
While sitting in the passenger’s seat in front of the truck, the victim was shot in the back by a bullet. The pistol and dog are said to be in the vehicle’s backseat, based on the report of the New York Post.
“A canine belonging to the owner of the pickup stepped on the rifle, causing the weapon to discharge. The fired round struck the passenger, who died of his injuries on scene,” said the Sumner County Sheriff’s office.
“The investigation is ongoing, but the preliminary investigation shows it to be a hunting related accident,” he added.
It was unclear whether the victim was the dog’s owner. Kansas plumber Joseph Smith was recognized as the man who was shot by his dog in a sad hunting accident. Smith worked for Browns Plumbing Services in Wichita.
The police have not stated whether Smith’s pet was the canine that fatally shot him over the weekend. They have also not stated what happened to the animal in the days following the incident.
