BuCor Denies “Solicitation Letter” Being Distributed by Personnel for PDLs
The Bureau of Correction (BuCor) strongly denied that their personnel are distributing solicitation letter for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs)
The BuCor denied claims that they are allowing a group to distribute a solicitation letter for the PDL program in a post on their social media website. According to BuCor, the solicitation letter was supposedly signed by Roloando R. Camogao.
According to the report, Camogao is a former PDL member and the founding chairwoman of the ‘Rehab Society Association, NBP Reservation, Zamboanga Peninsula. It is believed to be for PDL programs at Zamboanga City’s San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF).
However, the BuCor emphasized that they have no affiliation with the aforementioned group. They also stated that they do not solicit funds from private persons or businesses for the PDLs.
The government agency urged the public to notify them via Facebook: @piobucorofficial, Email: [email protected], and in the event that scammers attempt to victimize them. The Bureau would never sponsor any entity that intends to utilize our publicly available PDLs to seek funds from other organizations, the BuCor stated.
