Bela Padilla is not a fan of horror movies
Actress-director Bela Padilla reveals why she is avoiding doing horror films but she had to do this during shooting for her movie Spellbound.
In the said movie, Bela’s character is Yuri who is able to see ghosts after an accident while his leading man Marco Gumabao who is playing the character of Victor is a street magician.
Rhen Escaño is also part of the movie and plays the character of Krissy, a ghost and best friend of Yuri. Victor convinced Yuri to do magic shows with him using her ability to see ghosts. Krissy witnessed how romance bloomed between Victor and Yuri but she would do things that would hinder them to do so.
Bela shared that they started shooting for this movie back in January 2020, based on the article in Bandera. At that time delay happened due to the Taal volcano eruption and that year in March, the lockdown was implemented due to COVID.
“Natigil ang shoot namin at hindi na kami nagkita. I went to London in July 2021 and we were able to resume the shooting only last year. And now, finally, we’re glad natapos na rin siya at ipapalabas na,” the actress-director shared.
Bela also shared that this is the first time she is doing a movie that the character is close to her personality in real life. “Kasi pareho kaming duwag ni Yuri. I’m really afraid of ghosts so I avoid doing horror films,” she admitted.
On the other hand, she likes the story of Spellbound but she needed to do some preparations before the shoot in order not to get scared. Bela Padilla said that she would ask the production staff to show her the people who would portray ghosts in the movie so that she will not be surprised anymore while the camera is rolling.
