Tricycle Driver Shot by Drug Pusher who Discovered He Was Police Asset

A tricycle driver was shot dead by a drug pusher after he was discovered to be a police asset in Manila.

A man who was apparently a police asset was shot dead Tuesday afternoon by a fellow he met at a friend’s house in Port Area, Manila. According to the report, the victim was identified as Joel Graciano, a 26-year-old tricycle driver who was homeless.

According to police, he died on the spot as a result of bullet wounds in various regions of his body. Meanwhile, the suspect, only known as ‘Blondie,’ fled with the gun used in the crime.

According to the investigation done by PSSg Arvy Macarasig, who is in charge of the case and assigned to the Manila Police District’s (MPD) Homicide Section, the incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. at the home of witness Melvin Galang in Baseco Compound in Port Area. Prior to this, the victim allegedly arrived at Galang’s house at 3:00 p.m. and stated that he was only waiting for someone.

After approximately an hour, the suspect approached the victim and spoke with her. After a few minutes, Galang allegedly heard the suspect shouting, “Tang ina ka Joel, asset ka ng pulis!” ‘This was followed by gunfire, based on the report.

Galang apparently hid out of fear of being shot, and when he saw that Blondie had left, he went to the victim, who was bleeding and dead. Authorities are on the lookout for the culprit in order to hold him accountable for the crime.
