Shamcey Supsup surprised by MU Result, Writes message for Celeste Cortesi

Shamcey Supsup admitted that she did not expect Celeste Cortesi would be included in the Top 16

Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup said that she was surprised by the Miss Universe 2020 result and she wrote this message for the Philippines’ bet Celeste Cortesi.

Years after doing her beauty pageant stint, Shamcey became a supporter of Pinay beauty queens competing for Miss Universe. When this franchise was separated from Binibining Pilipinas, Shamcey became the National Director in December 2019.

Since she became the National Director, Shamcey has been showing support for the PH’s bet during the pageant night. However, rumors surfaced that she and MUPH’s creative director Jonas Gaffud left Celeste.

In an interview with ABS-CBN reporter Dyan Castillejo after the pageant, Shamcey Supsup appeared to have debunked the rumors that they left Celeste Cortesi after failing to enter the Top 16.

Shamcey admitted that it was a surprise for her also that the Pinay beauty queen was not included in the Top 16 semifinalists. It is because she believes that Celeste did a wonderful job during the preliminary competitions.

The MUPH National Director also shared that she told Celeste that all she can do is do her best and they have no control already in whatever direction the Miss Universe would want to lead. Shamcey added she knows the Pinay beauty queen worked hard day and night for their competition.

In an Instagram post, Shamcey also wrote a heartwarming message for Celeste. “You fought bravely to raise the Filipino flag on that stage and what truly matters is that you gave it your all and made your country proud,” the Miss Universe 2011 3rd runer-up said.

She also said that Miss Universe Philippines will continue to open its doors to women to have a platform where they can find their purpose larger than themselves.
