Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa reacted to the issue that she left Philippines’ bet Celeste Cortesi after she failed to enter the Top 16.
After the Miss Universe 2022 coronation night, rumors surfaced that the Miss Universe Philippines organization officials immediately left after Celeste’s name was not included in the Top 16 semifinalists.
Some netizens speculated that MJ’s tweet saying, “Balik pala ko ulit sayang ticket,” was a sort of confirmation that the MUPH org did not stay with Celeste until the end.
“Ang sasama niyo.. di kasalanan ni MJ ang di pagkapasok ng rep natin.. buti nga siya eh todo support eh kayo?? Wala kayo magawa kundi mang bash..” Twitter user @hogyujjongyeol commented on MJ Lastimosa’s post.
Then, she answered a netizen’s comment asking her if they really left Celeste after the Top 16 announcement. MJ said that during her time, she also rode on the MU bus alone back to their hotel.
Then the former beauty queen clarified that she did not leave Celeste Cortesi after she failed to enter the Top 16. MJ shared a photo that proved that she was still in her seat after the announcement of the semifinalists.
Sobrang walang comprehension ng mga tao here huhu [smiling face with tear emoji]. “Pano ko po iiwan si Celeste Anjan po sya sa backstagetill the pageant ends, Wala po pwedeng umalis. And Di rin po ako Pwede sa backstage Anong gagawin ko? Juskwa kayo! Ayan zinozoom in ko pa sya,” MJ wrote in the caption of her post.
MJ Lastimosa also shared a post on Instagram dedicated to Celeste Cortesi. The former beauty queen said that she said thank you to the reigning Miss Universe Philippines.
