Fuel Companies to Implement Oil Price Hike on Tuesday
Fuel firms told Filipino motorists to brace for upcoming oil price hike this week following rollback last week.
Over the past few years, the prices of petroleum products were playing a very important role to the country’s economy. Oil price changes affects the prices of other services and products.
The petroleum price increase would contribute to the burden of Filipino people especially to those who were driving vehicles for a living and to private drivers driving to reach their point of destination.
Several oil companies announced an increase in prices of petroleum products including gasoline, diesel, and kerosene following the price slash last week. The price changes will take effect on Tuesday (January 17, 2023).
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp announced that the firm will impose an additional amount of P0.95 per liter of gasoline, P0.50 per liter of diesel and P0.15 per liter of kerosene.
Cleanfuel will implement similar price adjustments except for kerosene, which it does not carry.
All gasoline stations will take effect at 6 am on Tuesday except for Cleanfuel, which will impose the price changes at 4:01 pm.
Other oil firms are expected to make similar announcements later this week.
The Department of Energy released the latest data available showing the prices Metro Manila ranged from P56.00 per liter (Caloocan) to P80.92 per liter (Pasig) for gasoline, and P57.10 per liter (Quezon City) to P78.45 per liter (Pasay) for diesel as of January 12, 2023.
Last week, gas stations implement a rollback of P0.75 per liter of gasoline, P2.80 per liter of diesel and P2.10 per liter of kerosene.
