“Family Matters” Wins No Major Award Due to Direk Laurice Guillen?

Ogie Diaz Says Direk Laurice Guillen is the Reason why Family Matters Didn’t Win Major Award

Talent manager and showbiz vlogger Ogie Diaz revealed that “Family Matters” wins no major award because of Director Laurice Guillen.

In another vlog episode, Ogie claims that he learned that the film was not featured in the major honors of the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Awards Night because one of its judges is Director Laurice Guillen.

In “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update,” Ogie and his co-hosts Mama Loi, Dyosa Pockoh, and Tita Jegs discussed the results of the Awards Night. The third-best film is “Nanahimik ang Gabi,” the second-best film is “Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told,” and the first-best film is “Deleter,” which earned honors.

Ogie Diaz stated that someone inquired about his speculation regarding the film Family Matters not winning big honors despite its excellent narrative and storyline. According to an Ogie Diaz source, the film’s director, Ogie Diaz, was the reason Family Matters did not even receive big honors.

“Ito hindi confirmed ha. Pwede itong linawin ng tutukuyin natin. Totoo ba ito na may kinalaman ba si Direk Laurice Guillen kung bakit hindi nabigyan ng maraming nominasyon ang Family Matters?” Ogie Diaz said.

According to reports, Director Laurice was concerned that Family Matters might outperform his own 2001 film, Tanging Yaman. The two films share the same concept. It should be noted that his previous film impressed everyone, therefore he appears to be terrified of changing it.

“Ha? Totoo bang ayaw maungusan ni Direk Laurice Guillen ang kanyang Tanging Yaman ng Family Matters,” Ogie Diaz said in disbelief.
