Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi’s movie is so popular
A source revealed that Partners In Crime, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 entry of Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi earned P31 million on the first day of showing.
The said movie is under Star Cinema and directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. Vice once again did his signature comedy movie. For several years, the Unkabogable Star joined the film fest, and this year, he has another entry.
His tandem with Ivana has received positive feedback. In an article in PEP, it was said that Partners In Crime got the highest earnings on December 25. After the lockdowns and restrictions due to the pandemic were lifted, moviegoers became alive once again.
It has been a tradition of many Pinoy families to watch MMFF entries during the holiday season and people are excited to watch this year’s movies after not having this kind of scenario for almost three years.
PEP writer Gorgy Rula shared that his reliable source said that the movie of Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi reached P31 million and was followed by Deleter starring Nadine Lustre with P10 million. The third place was taken by the movie Family Matters featuring Liza Lorena and Noel Trinidad.
It was said that other movies like Labyu with an Accent, My Teacher, and Nanahimik ang Gabi had pretty good earnings on the first day. Reportedly, MMFF entries earned a total of P63 million on Sunday.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Acting Chairman Atty. Romando “Don” Artes shared a message about this year’s MMFF.
“Labis naming ikinagagalak ang suportang ipinamamalas ng publiko sa MMFF, base sa mahahabang pila sa mga sinehan hindi lamang dito sa Metro Manila kundi sa Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao. Hiling namin ang inyong patuloy na suporta hanggang sa pagtatapos ng MMFF sa January 7,” he said.
