Boots Anson Roa revealed why she wasn’t able to be part of the ‘Family Matters’ movie
Veteran actress Boots Anson Roa revealed that she was offered to do the role of Liza Lorena in the movie Family Matters.
The said movie is under Cineko Productions and is one of the official Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 entries. This also features Noel Trinidad, Nonie Buencamino, Mylene Dizon, Agot Isidro, JC Santos, James Blanco, and Nikki Valdez.
In a recent press conference for the MMFF 2022, based on the article in PEP, Boots thanked Direk Nuel Naval and Mel del Rosario for inviting her to be one of the cast members of the movie.
However, she has two “predicaments” about why she did not accept the offer. First is that she had to go on leave from the Metro Manila Film Festival before the duration of the festival because she is the chairperson of the Screening Committee.
It would be a conflict of interest. “But maybe, nature took its course. Ahhm, the other reason and the more urgent reason why I could not accept it, nagka-shingles ako,” Boots Anson Roa added.
The veteran actress said that she does not want to delay the production as she had to recover for a month. She also said that Family Matters is a good movie and her supposed role is also a good role.
However, Boots said that she is happy for Liza and the latter portrayed the role very well. Meanwhile, when it comes to her health, the veteran actress said that she is really being extra careful.
“I’ll be 78 next month, kailangan super-ingat talaga. But God has been good. I’ve been pretty healthy. Wala akong maintenance pills. Wala akong major sakit,” she shared.
