MMFF 2022 Official Theme Is “Balik Saya”
MMFF 2022 – Veteran actress Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo spoke on the upcoming film festival this December 25 to January 7, 2022.
A lot of people are now excited for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2022. This annual film festival which is held every December has become part of the Christmas celebrations in the Philippines. Several productions submit script and movie entries months prior to the last day of the month.
A few weeks ago, the executives of the MMFF 2022 has released the official entries for the upcoming film festival which will run from December 25, 2022 to January 7, 2022. Based on a report on Pep, the upcoming MMFF 2022 has the theme “Balik Saya”. According to Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo, they really have lots of hopes because they did a lot of innovations to bring back the fun and spirit of the film festival.
Boots stressed that the Filipinos are not yet back to their habits of watching movies but the MMFF strives to restore the spirit and spark the excitement of the moviegoers with a good mix of Filipino movies.
Based on the article, the MMFF 2022 Chairperson of the Selection Committee stressed that while the eight (8) movies to be shown in the upcoming film festival make a good combination, they are practical and realistic amid the pandemic. They are not into aiming to hit P1 billion earnings like during the pre-pandemic years. She further expressed that it is important to accept the truth that not all cinemas in the country have opened.
According to the veteran actress, there is an effort to “approach normalcy as much as possible” and it’s a very tough challenge. Amid the high prices of movie tickets, she stressed that producers and theaters are still on the process of recuperating from the impact of the pandemic thus they cannot be blamed.
