Filipino Family Included In Beyoncé ‘Break My Soul’ Music Video

BEYONCÉ – Here’s Mama Lulu’s reaction after getting featured in Beyoncé’s’ Break My Soul’ music video.

After appearing in Beyonce’s most recent video for ‘Break My Soul,’ a Filipino family well known for their entertaining TikTok video has shared another clip that has gone viral online. One of the stars of the new video is content creator Oliver Balgos, whose social media posts about his mother Mama Lulu are hugely popular on social media.

‘Break My Soul’ begins with a clip showing Balgos (also known as Olly), joking with his mom and sister, saying he doesn’t like Beyonce’s new song. Mama Lulu responds, “Get out of here before I break your soul,” as his sister Apple looks on in shock.

The video was released by Beyonce last week to mark the certified platinum of the hit song by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Break My Soul, the first song from Beyonce’s critically acclaimed seventh album Renaissance, spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The house music-inspired track has received nominations for the Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording categories at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

In a video that has garnered more than 2 million views on TikTok, Balgos, who goes by the handle @otakoyakisoba, shared Mama Lulu’s response a few hours after the new video’s debut.

“Beyonce posted a new video and I have a surprise for you because I think you might like it,” he can be heard telling his excited mom.

“Who’s that?” he asks his stunned Mama as she launches into a happy dance.

The video then transitions to Mama Lulu dabbing her eyes and using a water bottle as a microphone while covered in a blanket bearing the cover art of Renaissance.

“I would like to thank Beyonce, her mother Tina for having her, and my family,” Mama Lulu says, before chiding her son to “focus on the blanket.”
