Statement of Malacañang on Protest vs. Controversial Contractors Curlee, Sarah Discaya
Malacañang was asked about the recent chaotic protest that transpired outside the residence of the Discaya family in Pasig City.
The Senate launched its own investigation on the alleged anomalous flood control projects in the Philippines. It invited the contractors flagged by President Bongbong Marcos during a press conference when he revealed that 15 contractors got 18% of the country’s total spending on government flood control deals.

Amid the issue, the Senate launched its own investigation led by the Blue Ribbon Committee chaired by Senator Rodante Marcoleta. Following the absence of several contractors during the first Senate flood probe, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero signed the subpoenas issued to the following contractors to urge their attendance:
- Mr. Luisito R. Tiqui, President of L.R. Tiqui Builders, Inc.
- Ms. Cezarah C. Discaya, President of Alpha and Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corporation
- Mr. Lawrence R. Lubiano, President of Centerways Construction and Development Inc.
- Mr. Edgar S. Acosta, President of Hi-Tone Construction & Development Corp.
- Ms. Marjorie O. Samidan, authorized managing officer of MG Samidan Construction
- Mr. Romeo C. Miranda, President of Royal Crown Monarch Construction & Supplies Corp.
- Ms. Ma. Roma Angeline D. Rimando. President of St. Timothy Construction Corporation
- Ms. Aderma Angelie D. Alcazar, President/CEO of Sunwest, Inc.
- Mr. Eumir S. Villanueva, President of Topnotch Catalyst Builders Inc.
- Mr. Mark Allan V. Arevalo, General Manager of Wawao Builders

The second Senate hearing was held last September 1. Sarah Discaya, the president of the Alpha and Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corporation, was one of those who attended the recent Senate flood probe.

Undeniably, Discaya is the most popular among the contractors. Amid the flood control projects issue in the Philippines, her previous interviews with Julius Babao and Korina Sanchez wherein she flaunted her luxurious lifestyle resurfaced.
Sarah Discaya and her husband, Curlee, earned countless criticisms amid the issue. Recently, a chaotic protest transpired outside the residence of the Discaya family in Pasig City. Based on a report on GMA News, several protesters threw mud, vandalized, and shook the gate of the Discaya’s property.

Recently, Malacañang reacted to the chaotic protest that transpired outside the residence of the Discaya family in Pasig City. Based on the report, Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro stressed that what happened is not what Pres. Bongbong Marcos wants.

Atty. Claire Castro further expressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos does not want misinformation allegedly being peddled to instill anger among the Filipino people to result to such situation. Based on the report, the Malacañang press official added that what the Chief Executive wants is for the people to be enlightened.
“Nais ng Pangulo ay maliwanagan lahat tayo kung ano ang nangyayari sa mga flood control projects at maibigay ang nararapat sa taumbayan,” the Palace official said.
According to Malacañang, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has ordered all the concerned government agencies and the law enforcers already to make sure that chaotic protest actions won’t happen again.
During the Senate flood probe, Sen. Bato dela Rosa asked Sarah Discaya when her companies started getting government contracts. The Senator was seemingly shocked by the response of the controversial contractor as she claimed that they started acquiring government deals since 2016 onwards.
Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa has a new statement over the flood control investigation despite the remarks of Sarah Discaya.
