Jovit Baldivino had this effect on Gary Valenciano
Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano shared his fondest memory with Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 Champion Jovit Baldivino who recently passed away.
Reports circulated on December 9 about the death of the singer who was known for the song Ika’y Mahal Pa Rin. Prior to this, it was reported that he was rushed to the hospital and stayed in the intensive care unit for several days.
Friends of Jovit in the entertainment industry like Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 Champion Marcelito Pomoy and actress-singer Kakai Bautista share their heart-wrenching posts dedicated to the late singer.
In a Twitter post, Gary Valenciano also shared his kind words about Jovit Baldivino. The seasoned performer recalled the time when he would wait for Jovit’s performance in the Kapamilya musical variety show.
Mr. Pure Energy also shared what he would always say to the late singer. “Parang I still can’t believe this. I’ll never forget how I would always wait to hear his parts in ASAP. He always got to prove why he was Pilipinas Got Talent’s champion. I always always always would try to encourage him to keep shining. Sing for Jesus when you see Him Jovit,” Gary tweeted.
Many netizens who commented on the Twitter post that Gary shared expressed shock also upon knowing that Jovit has passed away. The late singer is just 29 years old. In a statement released by his family, the cause of his death was also shared.
In 2010, among the many aspirants to be singers handled by ABS-CBN, Jovit Baldivino rosed above them all when he was hailed as the first-ever champion of PGT. Back then, the judges were former ABS-CBN executive Freddie M. Garcia, Queen of all Media Kris Aquino, and Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai de las Alas.
Auditions were held in different places in the Philippines but someone from Batangas became the first PGT champion.
