Steve Harvey to Reportedly be Replaced as Miss Universe Host
STEVE HARVEY – The American TV host will reportedly not be the host in the next Miss Universe pageant in January 2023.
In the recent previous Miss Universe pageants held in different countries, American TV host, producer, and comedian Steve Harvey was the host. Based on Variety, it was part of the pageant’s deal with Fox.
Steve undeniably captured the hearts of the viewers. His witty jokes has added a lot to the spirit of the pageant making it a more lively event. It is one of the most prestigious pageants held annually and people from different nations across the globe watch the event live or on broadcast.
Undeniably, one of the most significant events in the journey of Steve Harvey as Miss Universe pageant host was in 2015. A few minutes after naming Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the Miss Universe 2015, the American TV host apologized to the public saying that it was his fault to announce the wrong name. Gutierrez was the first runner up and the crown was given to Philippines’ bet Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach.
Since the 2015 event, Steve and Pia always have a joyful encounter on stage. Also, the American TV host always draws laughter from the crowd with his comic statements and reactions before announcing the pageant’s winners.
However, it seems that the journey of Steve Harvey as Miss Universe host will not continue in the next pageant set this January 2023. According to Variety, Miss Universe Chief-Executive-Officer (CEO) Amy Emmerich expressed that a new female host will be the host of the pageant in January 2023.
Based on the article, Emmerich said that the new host will be announced in the coming weeks. The change is in line with her goal to really make Miss Universe lead with a “female lens”.
“It was a rare opportunity to be able to kind of restart in a whole new place,” the Miss Universe CEO said.
Aside from the change in the Miss Universe host, the prestigious pageant is making its move to streaming as well. MU has sealed a deal with Roku Channel which will stream the event live from New Orleans on January 14, 2023.
