Is there something romantic between Jeffrey Hidalgo and Geneva Cruz?
Singer-actor Jeffrey Hidalgo revealed the real score between him and singer-actress Geneva Cruz.
When they were younger, Jeffrey and Geneva were part of the hit 90s singing group Smokey Mountains. For several years, they worked together and eventually pursued their own paths in the entertainment industry.
Netizens couldn’t help but wonder if there is something romantic between them when photos and videos of them having fun together at a beach surfaced online. In a recent interview, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, Jeffrey admitted that he courted Geneva when they were younger.
“We kinda tried, pero hindi talaga. But this was decades ago. Geneva was my graduation ball date. When we were teenagers, I courted her,” Jeffrey Hidalgo shared. However, Geneva Cruz turned him down.
Although romantic relationship did not bloom between them, their friendship became stronger. “Today we are just best friends who are very comfortable with each other. We travel together, we both love Boracay which is the reason why you always see beach pictures of us in Gen’s Instagram account all the time,” the singer-actor shared.
When asked if he and Geneva sleep in one bed, Jeffrey said no but if the hotel reservation is full, they would sleep in one room but separate bed. He said that Geneva would not travel without her daughter.
“They sleep together in one bed and I sleep on a separate bed. That’s how comfortable we are with each other. Geneva trusts me and I respect her,” the singer-actor explained, adding that this is how strong their friendship is.
Jeffrey also shared that Geneva was offered by GMA to do a revealing role in a project. The actress-singer said that she will agree to do the project if Jeffrey is the director. He was hailed as the International Film Festival Manhattan best director for 2022.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Hidalgo is part of the film Deleter with Nadine Lustre which is one of the official MMFF 2022 entries.
