ANGELICA PANGANIBAN – Famous actress Angelica Panganiban calls out customs over tax issues regarding her ordered item.

Previously, Kapamilya actress angelica Panganiban sought help from netizens regarding the high amount of custom tax on the item she ordered. She asked for enlightenment related to a taxation quandary.

And just recently, she faced another the same issue with customs and she is problematic as to how the tax of the item she ordered was bigger compared to the amount of the item.

“Hmmm… pano ma contact ang customs? May binili akong swimsuit, 7k yung amount. Pero pinapabayaran ako ng 8,211 pagka deliver sa akin,” she said and added, “naloka po me”.

In the comment section, the official Twitter account of the Bureau Of Customs reached out to her and promised her that they will look into this matter.

One netizen in the comment section indicated that with the amount of her ordered item, she should not be charged.

Under Republic Act No. 10863 or an Act Modernizing The Customs and Tariff Administration, the De Minimis threshold has been increased to Php 10,000.00 which means that if the importation doesn’t exceed the said amount, no taxes will be charged. This excludes the shipping cost and insurance.

It stated:

Under Customs Memorandum Order No. 28-2016 which provides for the guidelines for the implementation of Customs Administrative Order No. 02-2016, all imported goods with a value of no more than P10,000.00 and are not classified as prohibited shall enjoy duty and tax-free privilege.

To recall, Angge’s friend Bela Padilla also previously called out the institution due to delayed delivery of her items. They are not the only celebrities who met the same problems
