Police Shot a Man who Fires Back During Hot Pursuit after Stealing Eggs in Batangas

A man who was accused of stealing eggs suffer a gunshot wound after being shot by cops during the hot pursuit in Batangas.

In Barangay Maligaya Lemery, Batangas, a guy who is accused of stealing numerous trays of eggs was hurt during a confrontation with law enforcement. Jake Cusipag y Calimag, 34 years old, a single installer, and a resident of Barangay Lumbang in Calaca, Batangas, was named as the suspect.

Stealing Eggs Shot in Batangas

According to the report, the unidentified victim reported the theft of 20 egg trays in their neighborhood by going to the Lemery Municipal Police Station. He did this after learning that someone was offering eggs for sale in the market at a discount.

In the course of the operation, the police apprehended the suspect in the specified location, but he fled while brandishing a gun. He allegedly fired at the cops, who then returned fire.

The suspect was struck on the left leg, which led to his capture. The Batangas Provincial Hospital received the suspect right away for emergency care. The suspect was found to be in possession of a caliber 45 Remington 1911 pistol, a magazine, ammunition, and a shoulder bag containing personal items.

Meanwhile, based on the information, law enforcement has confirmed that Cusipag is the subject of an arrest warrant in connection with the Frustrated Murder and Illegal Possession of Firearms cases (10591). Lemery MPS is holding the suspect, who will be charged with a number of crimes.
