Danica Sotto and Marc Pingris shared their love story
Actress Danica Sotto shared the hurtful words she received from doubters who did not believe that basketball star Marc Pingris is the right man for her.
Danica and Marc have been married for more than a decade now. It is known to many that they have different backgrounds. Danica is from a popular showbiz clan. She is the daughter of showbiz veterans Dina Bonnevie and Vic Sotto.
The actress has had a comfortable life since she was young. On the other hand, Marc came from a poor environment in the province. He has been very open and he did several low-paying jobs before becoming a professional basketball player.
In an episode of ALLTV’s talk show TONI, hosted by Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga, Danica Sotto and Marc Pingris shared their love story. When they started dating, there were people around Danica who doubted Marc’s capacity when they would eventually settle down.
The actress shared that when they got engaged, there were those who discouraged her. Those doubters told her that Marc would just leave her after his basketball career. However, Danica said that understanding where Marc came from and how he was able to survive those trials in his life, made her even more secure being with him.
“Alam kong he’s very resilient. Alam kong hindi ito bibigay ng basta basta kasi mas marami na siyang mas masasakit na pinagdaanan eh, so, alam kong ipaglalaban niya ako,” Danica Sotto said.
She said that people around her, but not all as there were also who liked Marc for her, would say negative words against her then-boyfriend. There were those who said that she will just “kawawa” because, at that time, Marc was just starting his career in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
People would say to Danica that Marc would soon end his basketball career. “Sobrang sasama ng mga sinasabi, ‘bubulukin ka lang niyan sa probinsya,'” Danica shared.
