Skeletal Remains Recovered At DOJ Excavation Site In Manila

Authorities found skeletal remains at an excavation site at the DOJ

Skeletal remains were recovered at an excavation site at the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Padre Faura, Manila on November 24.

Constructions and renovations of government buildings and infrastructures continue under the new administration. However, work in the construction site inside the DOJ compound took a halt on Thursday afternoon.

The temporary halt was caused by the skeletal remains that were found. Reportedly, this was the construction site for the Justice Center Bldg. 2.

In a Twitter post shared by ABS-CBN reporter Mike Navallo, personnel of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), together with the DOJ officials inspected a skull.

Based on a report from Inquirer, this is not the first time that skeletal remains were found in the DOJ compound. Reportedly, back in 2005, several remains were also discovered. Previously, an official of the DOJ said that in the said area a garrison that was used by Japanese soldiers once stood there.

As of this writing, authorities haven’t released further details yet about this incident.
