Indian National Jailed for Selling Goods without Working Visa

Indian National Selling Goods Without Working Visa, Permit Arrested

Police authorities arrested an Indian national for allegedly selling goods without a working visa and proper permit in Cagayan.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested an Indian national who was selling various products without a proper working visa or permit, according to the report of Remate. The foreign national was identified as Inderjeet Bamdev, 36.

The international suspect was detained at his store in Brgy, according to Fortunato Manahan, Jr., Chief of the BI Intelligence Division. Camalaniugan, Cagayan, and Centro Norte. Manahan claims that the foreign national’s detention followed an allegation that he started his firm without a valid working visa.

Bamdev refused to be arrested, thus it took hours to finally get him into police custody. According to Manahan, he even boasted that he has the support of some law enforcement officials and that BI cannot touch him.

“It took hours to take Bamdev into our custody as he refused the arrest. He even bragged that he has the backing of some law enforcement officers and that he is untouchable by BI,” Manahan said.

However, when Bamdev’s travel history and visa situation were examined, it turned out that he had been residing in the nation for more than four years without having applied for the necessary visa. A breach of Section 37(a)(7) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940 is alleged against Bamdev.

“It is disappointing how some think they can easily evade the authorities in our country. Nobody is above the law. Adhere by it or face deportation,” according to BI Chief Norman Tansingco.
