Overstaying Canadian National Nabbed for Running Amok in Pampanga
Police authorities arrested a Canadian national for running amok and destroying properties in Pampanga.
The foreign national was detained by agents from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for damaging properties in a subdivision in Angeles City, Pampanga. Due to an alleged overstay in the Philippines, the Canadian will be returned home.
The foreigner was recognized by BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco as Andrew Clark Stewart, 62. According to the report, a complaint of unruly behavior inside their community led to the suspect’s detention inside his home in Angeles City, Pampanga.
“When our officers approached Stewart, he failed to present a valid passport or any identification card. He was then arrested for being in flagrante undocumented,” explained Tansingco.
Stewart is now in danger of being deported as a result of breaking the Philippine Immigration Act of 194, staying overstaying his welcome, and being an undocumented immigrant. Tansingco issued a warning to other foreigners who wished to remain in the nation whether legally or illegally.
“This should serve as a warning to foreigners who wish to stay in the country. Legalize your stay and behave appropriately or face detention and deportation,” according to Tansingco.
In anticipation of the deportation process, Stewart is being held at the BI detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig.
