BILLIONAIRE JEFF BEZOS – The billionaire Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, has announced he’s giving Dolly Parton $100 million.

Dolly Parton is a country, pop, and gospel singer-songwriter. Her hit songs include, “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You.” She also has been a longtime philanthropist.

The 76-year-old superstar donated 1 million dollars to Vanderbilt University’s Medical Center to help develop a vaccine during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. She also has founded several charities including the Dollywood Foundation. The foundation focuses on education and poverty relief. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this month.

Based on a report from Inquirer, Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon.com, gave Dolly Parton a $100 million prize as part of the “Bezos Courage & Civility Award,” which honors those in leadership positions who “pursue solutions with courage and civility,” he stated online.

Along with his longtime partner, news anchor Lauren Sanchez, Bezos, who also owns the space rocket company Blue Origin, announced the award on Friday.

Lauren Sanchez said on Instagram that the Country music star is “a woman who gives with her heart and leads with love and compassion in every aspect of her work.”

“We can’t wait to see all the good that you’re going to do with this $100 million award,” Sanchez said.

Dolly, in a video clip of the ceremony shared online, said, “Wow! Did you say $100 million?”

“I think people who are in a position to help should put their money where their heart is. I will do my best to do good things with this money,” Dolly said.

Bezos’ award was established in 2001. The first recipients were the activist Van Jones, the first CEO of the REFORM Alliance and Dream Corps, and the chef and humanitarian Jose Andres, who founded World Central Kitchen to give food in the immediate aftermath of disasters.
